New Leadership Takes Charge at Twin Cities Business Magazine

A significant transition is underway at Minnesota’s only local business magazine, Twin Cities Business. As of today, Adam Platt, a seasoned journalist and the magazine’s executive editor, has been appointed as its new editor. His leadership aims to enhance the publication’s efforts in documenting the individuals and companies that are driving the state’s economy.

Joining Platt in this new chapter is Charlie Rybak, who has been appointed as the editorial director. Rybak’s role will concentrate on cross-platform storytelling, which is intended to bolster the magazine’s visibility across various channels to engage audiences wherever they consume their news. Additionally, he will serve as vice president of innovation as part of the executive leadership team at MSP Communications, the parent company of Twin Cities Business.

“I am honored to join the team to expand on the foundation that so many hard-working women and men have built here,” Rybak stated. He expressed enthusiasm about connecting with the local community, highlighting the importance of sharing the stories of the Twin Cities’ business landscape. Rybak is known for his strategic focus on growth and digital media, holding a degree from the George Washington University School of Media and Public Affairs.

In commenting on the leadership changes, Jayne Haugen Olson, managing director of MSP Communications, remarked, “This is an exciting next step for our organization, and specifically for Twin Cities Business.” She noted that businesses today are increasingly looking towards collaboration and innovation while staying true to their core values.

The magazine’s publisher, Shelly Elmore, emphasized that quality reporting and engaging storytelling will continue to solidify Twin Cities Business as a trusted resource for the Minnesota business community. “With Adam and Charlie stepping into their new leadership roles, their vision and expertise will elevate our storytelling and strengthen our engagement with audiences through all of our products and channels,” Elmore said.

Platt and Rybak will assume their new roles immediately, marking a pivotal moment for Twin Cities Business as it aims to adapt to the evolving landscape of local journalism. Under the ownership of Key Enterprises, MSP Communications also oversees several other publications, including Mpls.St.Paul Magazine, TechChannel, Super Doctors, and Studio MSP.

The leadership changes at Twin Cities Business represent not only a shift in personnel but also a commitment to enhancing the way local business news is reported and consumed.
