Authorities logged numerous incidents, including thefts, disturbances, and assaults, highlighting a concerning trend in public safety.
In just one week, the Sheriff’s office responded to over 70 incidents, with alarming cases of domestic violence and drug-related offenses. Notably, Kandace Farley and Dakota Jones were arrested for possession of controlled substances, while a string of thefts has left the community on edge.
Among the most pressing incidents, authorities reported multiple traffic accidents and disturbances, especially in populated areas like Athens and along US Hwy 72. For example, on November 26, a vehicle fire was reported at 13000 block New Cut Road, and on November 27, multiple disturbances were noted in residential neighborhoods.
The thefts include serious offenses such as home repair fraud amounting to $1,500 on November 25 in Tanner, along with multiple instances of vehicle theft and retail theft across Athens. The community is urged to remain vigilant as these crimes continue to unfold.
