URGENT UPDATE: Boulder Opera Company has officially launched its 2024 season, inviting the community to experience the transformative power of opera through engaging performances and outreach programs. This season promises to captivate audiences with a blend of passion, comedy, and timeless music.
The season kicked off with the highly anticipated Opera in the Park at the Boulder Bandshell on September 15, 2024, featuring iconic highlights from some of opera’s most celebrated works. In November, families can look forward to the heartwarming and humorous production of Donizetti’s The Elixir of Love. Following this, April 2025 will see Boulder Opera present Strauss’s Der Rosenkavalier, a poignant exploration of love, time, and transformation.
Boulder Opera has been dedicated to making opera accessible and engaging since its founding in 2012. The nonprofit organization has focused on breaking down barriers to ensure audiences from all backgrounds can enjoy live performances. Their community outreach has been particularly impactful, with hundreds of residents from underserved Latino and Hispanic communities enjoying free concerts.
In addition, thousands of students from Title I schools have been introduced to the art form through interactive educational programs, fostering a new generation of opera enthusiasts. This community-centered approach not only enriches the local cultural landscape but also creates lasting connections.
As a nonprofit primarily funded by donations, Boulder Opera is launching a fundraising campaign with a goal of raising $12,000 in unrestricted funds. These funds will support artist pay, expand bilingual programming, and increase community access for the upcoming 2026 season. Their message is clear: “It only takes a little to make a big impact.”
