Kelsey Grammer Lauds Donald Trump as ‘Maybe the Greatest’ President

Kelsey Grammer, the acclaimed star of “Frasier,” has expressed strong support for former President Donald Trump, calling him “maybe the greatest” president in American history. In an interview with Fox News Digital on December 6, 2025, Grammer praised Trump’s leadership and expressed optimism for his future goals.

“I think he’s extraordinary,” the 70-year-old actor stated. “He’s one of the greatest presidents we’ve ever had. Maybe the greatest. There are some things he still wants to get done, and I think that’s terrific, but there was a big hill to climb.” This endorsement comes ahead of the prestigious Kennedy Center Honors dinner in Washington, D.C., where Grammer was in attendance.

Grammer, recognized for his iconic roles in both “Cheers” and its spin-off “Frasier,” has been an outspoken Republican, consistently voicing his support for Trump over the years. Earlier in 2025, he remarked to The Times that it is refreshing to have a president who “actually means what they say.” In a May interview with PBS, he further emphasized that Trump’s focus is on the common man, a sentiment he believes reflects the modern Republican Party’s direction.

In a previous interview on BBC Radio 4’s “Today” show, Grammer reaffirmed his support for Trump when asked about his political stance. “I am. And I’ll let that be the end of it,” he replied. The interview reportedly faced interruptions from representatives at Paramount+, the streaming service behind the “Frasier” revival. BBC host Justin Webb remarked that Grammer was eager to discuss his political views, but public relations representatives seemed less inclined to allow the conversation to continue.

Grammer’s willingness to voice his political beliefs is notable, especially in an entertainment industry that often favors liberal viewpoints. In a 2012 interview with ABC News, he reflected on the challenges of being an openly Republican figure in Hollywood, suggesting that it may have impacted his career opportunities. “The thing is, I have always been a rebel,” he noted. “If you ever tell me the way to think, I’m bound to think the other way.”

Other celebrities have similarly faced backlash for their political affiliations. Actor Zachary Levi, who endorsed Trump during the 2024 election, disclosed that some industry peers have chosen not to work with him because of his beliefs. He shared, “My team has let me know… there are people who prefer not to work with me at this time. And it’s unfortunate.”

Another prominent supporter of Trump, actor Jon Voight, has previously described him as the “greatest president since Abraham Lincoln.” These endorsements highlight a distinct faction within Hollywood that aligns with Republican ideals.

Grammer, who welcomed his eighth child, Christopher, with wife Kayte Walsh in October 2025, is set to return to the big screen as part of the ensemble cast in Marvel’s “Avengers: Doomsday,” scheduled for release in December 2026. He will reprise his role as Beast from the “X-Men” films, marking a return to a beloved character after his surprise cameo in 2023’s “The Marvels.”

As Grammer continues to navigate his career amidst his political views, his recent comments reinforce his position as a prominent voice for conservative ideals within the entertainment industry.
