Olivia Culpo has unveiled her exclusive capsule collection with Abercrombie & Fitch, set to launch online on December 11, 2023. This limited-edition collaboration embodies the spirit of nostalgia and celebrates the rich history associated with football.
Culpo, aged 33, emphasized that her inspiration stems from the memories and emotions connected to the sport. “I feel like there’s so much history in football: the game, the colors, the memories that it brings up for people,” she stated. “So, I wanted this collection to feel timeless and nostalgic.” This effort aligns with Abercrombie’s initiative to redefine “fan style,” showcasing attire that appeals to both sports enthusiasts and fashion-forward individuals.
The capsule includes three standout pieces: an oversized leather jacket adorned with 49ers embroidery, a gray crewneck, and a black tank top, each prominently featuring the team’s logo. Culpo expressed her personal connection to the crewneck, noting, “I love the neckline.” While the collection offers a limited selection, she hopes consumers will resonate with the pieces as much as she does.
Balancing Motherhood and Style
As a new mother, Culpo has found ways to simplify her wardrobe choices. “When you’re a mom, you really do have to find ways to streamline your life,” she shared. “You don’t have enough time to go through piles and piles of clothes, and you don’t want to — you want to spend time with your baby.” This has led her to favor a more uniform approach to dressing, which she believes can help other busy parents.
“I’m excited to create pieces that people will keep coming back for,” she added. Culpo’s designs aim to be versatile enough for various occasions, whether attending a game or running errands. The practicality of her collection reflects her desire to make life easier for parents who also want to maintain a stylish appearance.
Culpo’s husband, Christian McCaffrey, a running back for the San Francisco 49ers, is also part of her inspiration. She joked about knowing his wardrobe inside out, having even assisted him in organizing his closet. “I cleaned out his closet for him. I tell him what he needs to get. I tell him what to wear,” she quipped.
Embracing New Experiences as a Parent
Culpo expressed her joy in becoming a mother, describing the experience as a “whirlwind, but in the best way.” She noted that as days pass, the challenges of new parenthood are becoming more manageable. “Things are settling. They’re getting easier with every day out of the newborn phase,” she reflected.
With the holiday season approaching, she feels the timing of her collection is ideal. “It can be traumatizing for a lot of people, and I completely understand that, but just finding the beauty in that, and that’s what it is. This is a time in your life. It’s not forever,” she remarked, adding that she looks forward to reminiscing about this period in the future.
Culpo’s partnership with Abercrombie & Fitch not only highlights her fashion sensibility but also her journey into motherhood. As she balances her career and family life, her collection is poised to resonate with fans and consumers alike, providing stylish options that reflect both personal and collective nostalgia.
