Powerball: Michigan Ticket Wins $1 Million Again, Jackpot Soars

UPDATE: A Powerball ticket sold in Michigan has just won $1 million in the Saturday, December 13 drawing, marking the second time this week a winner from Michigan has claimed this prize. The ticket matched the five white balls: 1, 28, 31, 57, and 58, according to the Michigan Lottery.

This latest win comes on the heels of another $1 million victory from a ticket sold for the Wednesday, December 10 drawing, highlighting a fortunate week for Michiganders. As no one won the Powerball jackpot on Saturday, the prize for the upcoming Monday drawing has skyrocketed to an astonishing $1.1 billion (with a cash value of $503.4 million).

In addition to the Michigan wins, two tickets sold in North Carolina and Pennsylvania matched the same five white balls with the Power Play feature, each worth $2 million. Furthermore, five other tickets worth $1 million were sold across California, Florida, New Jersey, and Virginia.

Michigan’s lottery history includes a record-breaking jackpot of $842.4 million won in January 2024, when a ticket was sold at Food Castle in Grand Blanc.

What’s next? The next Powerball drawing is scheduled for Monday, December 15, at 10:59 p.m. local time. In Michigan, players can purchase tickets until 9:45 p.m. on the night of the draw, either in-store or online.

Playing Powerball costs $2 per ticket, with an optional $1 for the Power Play feature which can multiply non-jackpot prizes up to ten times. The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot remain daunting, at 1 in 292.2 million.
