Johannes Lochner Leads Germany to Historic Bobsled Sweep in Lillehammer

BREAKING: In a stunning display of dominance, Johannes Lochner has secured his second consecutive victory in the World Cup four-man bobsled race held in Lillehammer, Norway today. As he prepares to retire after the February 2026 Olympics, Lochner’s performance has positioned him for what could be his best season yet, with Germany sweeping the podium once again.

Lochner’s team clinched first place, followed closely by Adam Ammour in second and Francesco Friedrich in third. This marks the fourth time this season that German bobsledders have achieved a 1-2-3 finish, further solidifying their dominance. Out of six men’s bobsled races this season, the Germans have now captured an impressive 16 of 18 medals, with Lochner winning five of those races.

On the U.S. side, Kris Horn emerged as the top four-man driver, finishing in sixth place. The competition was tough, but Horn’s effort highlights the ongoing development within the U.S. bobsled team.

In the women’s competition, Germany also swept the medals in the two-woman race. Laura Nolte took gold, while teammates Kim Kalicki and Lisa Buckwitz secured silver and bronze, respectively. Kaysha Love led the U.S. team with a fourth-place finish, just ahead of Kaillie Humphries Armbruster.

Looking ahead, the next events in the bobsled calendar include the women’s monobob and two-man races scheduled for Saturday in Sigulda, Latvia. Additionally, the skeleton women’s World Cup race is set for Thursday in Sigulda, while Lake Placid, New York will host men’s doubles, women’s doubles, and women’s singles races on Friday.

With the Olympics fast approaching, the stakes are higher than ever, and fans are eagerly anticipating whether Lochner can continue this streak of success before he hangs up his sled for good. This bobsled season is shaping up to be one for the record books, and the world is watching.
