Within days of its opening, the Garland DMV has experienced a surge in foot traffic. *April Singletary*, a DMV employee, was on hand to assist customers like *Carolyn Parker*, who visited to obtain her *Real ID* for travel. “I’m very excited about the DMV,” Parker stated. “We don’t have to go to Clinton, we don’t have to go to Elizabethtown; it’s right here in our hometown.”
The ease of access is a common sentiment among new visitors. *Sreeja Kandukuri*, who traveled from *Cary* with her father, *Janardhan*, highlighted the importance of quick service. “A lot of the DMVs are very crowded, especially if you don’t go very early in the morning,” Kandukuri explained. “It was very nice to find this place.”
Local resident *Brian Short*, originally from New Jersey, echoed the positive feedback. “It’s a lot easier to get an ID now,” he said, praising the new office as “a big step up” for the community.
