Construction is actively underway on a new four-story TownePlace Suites Hotel located at 1401 N. Woodbine Road in St. Joseph, Missouri. This $7.5 million project, which will feature 129 rooms, marks a significant addition to the area’s hospitality offerings and is anticipated to be completed by 2026.
According to Nathan Pare, the Planning and Community Development Director, construction crews have already finished the foundation and underground utility work. The next phase of the project will involve framing the structure, paving the way for further development. This hotel will include a breakfast area, a fitness center, an indoor pool, and an outdoor patio, catering to both business and leisure travelers.
This development is part of a larger trend in St. Joseph, where the local government has approved multiple hotel projects in recent months. The city council authorized funding for building plan review services in April, facilitating the advancement of this project owned by Altira St. Joe Hotel LLC.
The TownePlace Suites is one of three notable hotel projects in progress in St. Joseph. A substantial $60 million plan is underway on Frederick Avenue, which will include two large hotels and a new conference center currently under construction, adding around 250 new rooms to the area. Additionally, a $5.1 million WoodSpring Suites hotel and conference center is planned for the South Belt Highway, near San Jose Steakhouse.
With over 500 locations across the United States and Canada, TownePlace Suites is known for providing extended-stay accommodations and is expected to enhance the local tourism and business landscape significantly. The ongoing developments reflect a robust investment climate in St. Joseph, positioning the city as an emerging destination for visitors and conferences alike.
As construction progresses, the community looks forward to the benefits these new facilities will bring, including job creation and increased economic activity in the region.
