UPDATE: The highly anticipated 2025 All-Tidewater Football Team has been announced, spotlighting remarkable talent and record-breaking performances that captivated fans this season.
Leading the charge is Keon Johnson of Lake Taylor, who has been named the All-Tidewater Player of the Year. This senior running back/linebacker achieved an astounding 2,319 rushing yards and a jaw-dropping 42 touchdowns — both setting new South Hampton Roads single-season records. Johnson’s impressive performance also included 358 yards and five touchdowns during the state tournament, propelling his team to the Class 3 state title.
In a stellar debut season, Donovan “Domo” Everette, a sophomore quarterback from Maury, earned the title of Class 5 Offensive Player of the Year. He led his team to a historic average of 50.4 points per game while throwing for 3,513 passing yards with 46 touchdowns and rushing for an additional 533 yards and 11 touchdowns.
Meanwhile, Lonnie Andrews from Oscar Smith continues to shine, having secured his second consecutive first-team All-Tidewater selection. The junior quarterback completed 181 of 306 passes for 3,291 yards, leading his team to back-to-back Class 6 state titles.
Among the standout performances, Tayshawn Branche from Maury emerged as a key player, rushing for 2,255 yards and scoring 28 touchdowns to help clinch the Class 5 state title. Senior Amari Pryear from Bethel also made headlines, rushing for 2,035 yards and 37 touchdowns, leading the Bruins to their first playoff victory since 2008.
