The third annual Tempe Blooms event is set to take place on January 24 and 25, 2024, showcasing an array of stunning floral displays, music, and local art. This family-friendly festival aims to create a vibrant atmosphere in the heart of Downtown Tempe, attracting thousands of visitors to experience its unique offerings.
According to Bethany Kennedy, Director of Marketing at the Downtown Tempe Authority, the event will feature 21 large-scale floral installations designed by local Arizona florists. These installations will be strategically placed throughout the Downtown area, providing picturesque backdrops for attendees and leading them to various activities, including live music performances and mural art displays.
The festival will also feature a ‘flowerful market’ hosting over 70 vendors from across Arizona. “We are excited to present the Arizona Flower Market as our presenting sponsor,” Kennedy noted. “Our schedule includes six different seminars that will be available on our website, allowing attendees to plan their visits around them.”
One of the standout attractions this year is the opportunity for visitors to create their own floral bouquets, a feature that proved immensely popular in the previous edition of the event. Kennedy expressed optimism about the turnout, stating, “Last year, we welcomed over 80,000 attendees, and we hope to surpass that number in our third year.”
As part of the festival’s promotion, it will be highlighted in the ABC15 Things To Do segment, airing on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays at 20:00 across various streaming platforms and on the ABC15 mobile app.
The event promises to be a significant occasion for families and flower enthusiasts alike. It aims to grow from last year’s success, further cementing its status as a unique cultural experience in the Southwest.
Visitors can access the event at various locations in Downtown Tempe, including 3rd Street and Mill Avenue, 5th Street and Mill Avenue, and Ragsdale-MLK Park at 24 E 6th St. For those planning to attend, detailed event maps and schedules will be made available online.
This year’s Tempe Blooms is not just a celebration of flowers; it is an invitation to engage with the community through art, music, and the joy of creation.
