The Santa Clarita Valley Sheriff’s Station is accepting applications for its Deputy Explorer Program, aimed at young adults aged 14 to 20. This initiative offers an educational and career development opportunity for participants who maintain a minimum grade point average of 2.0. The program emphasizes the development of leadership skills, responsibility, confidence, and compassion while encouraging community service.
According to a news release from the L.A. County Sheriff’s Department, the Deputy Explorer Program allows participants to gain practical experience in law enforcement. The program includes hands-on training and insights into various career paths within the field.
Program Details and Application Process
The Explorer Academy will take place every Saturday for 18 weeks, starting from February 7 and concluding on June 6, 2024. Sessions will be held at the Lancaster Sheriff’s Station, providing a structured environment for participants to learn and grow.
