The highly anticipated spy action film “HUMINT” is set to premiere in IMAX on February 11, 2024. Movie distributor NEW announced the film’s IMAX release on January 27, generating excitement among fans of the genre. Directed by Ryoo Seung Wan, the film explores the intricate conflict between North and South Korean agents as they delve into criminal activities near the Vladivostok border.
In conjunction with the release announcement, a new poster was unveiled, showcasing the film’s three central characters. National Intelligence Service (NIS) agent Chief Jo, portrayed by Zo In Sung, stands alongside North Korea’s Ministry of State Security section chief Park Geon, played by Park Jeong Min, and North Korean restaurant worker Chae Seon Hwa, portrayed by Shin Sae Kyeong. The characters are positioned facing different directions, hinting at the complex relationships and conflicts that will unfold in the film.
Immersive Experience Enhanced by IMAX Technology
“HUMINT” aims to provide audiences with a fully immersive cinema experience, emphasizing its stunning visuals and gripping action. The film employs IMAX DMR® (Digital Media Remastering) technology, enhancing both image and sound quality. This approach is expected to accentuate the chilly surroundings of Vladivostok and the high-octane action sequences, creating a striking contrast that will draw viewers into the narrative.
Christopher J. Tillman, Vice President of International Development and Distribution at IMAX, expressed enthusiasm about the film’s potential in the IMAX format. He stated, “‘HUMINT’ is a powerful film that truly shines in IMAX. From the cold skyline of Vladivostok to the film’s breathtaking action, IMAX amplifies every scene by elevating its scale and clarity. Viewers will find themselves deeply immersed in the tension created by unpredictable relationships and explosive action.”
As the release date approaches, audiences are eager to see how “HUMINT” will leverage its IMAX capabilities to enhance the storytelling experience. Both fans of the cast and action film enthusiasts are looking forward to what promises to be an engaging cinematic event.
In the meantime, viewers can catch Zo In Sung in his recent work, “It’s Okay, That’s Love,” or explore Park Jeong Min’s film “Miracle: Letters to the President.” With its compelling narrative and advanced visual technology, “HUMINT” is poised to make a significant impact when it hits theaters next month.
