K-Pop Sensation ‘Demon Hunters’ Trio to Perform at BAFTA Awards

The trio from the animated musical K-Pop Demon Hunters is set to make their international live performance debut at the EE BAFTA Film Awards on February 22, 2026. EJAE (Rumi), Audrey Nuna (Mira), and Rei Ami (Zoey), known collectively as the voices of HUNTR/X, will showcase their Grammy-winning hit “Golden” at one of Britain’s premier film events.

The performers expressed their excitement in a joint statement, saying, “Performing at the EE BAFTA Film Awards is a golden moment that our younger selves could never have imagined. We’re so proud to represent Netflix’s K-Pop Demon Hunters and spread the film’s positive message to fans around the globe.” Their enthusiasm reflects the cultural significance of this performance, marking a notable shift for the K-Pop genre into mainstream Western awards shows.

Emma Baehr, executive director of awards and content at BAFTA, highlighted the film’s impact since its release last summer. She remarked that K-Pop Demon Hunters has had a “phenomenal impact on the hearts and minds of audiences of all ages around the world.” Baehr added that the inclusion of the talented singers will bring a vibrant energy to the ceremony.

Since its launch in June 2025, the animated musical, directed by Maggie Kang and Chris Appelhans, has garnered critical acclaim and commercial success, becoming Netflix’s most popular film to date. The film has achieved over 500 million streams and is nominated for an Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Furthermore, its lead song, “Golden,” has received an Academy Award nomination for Best Original Song. The track was the most-streamed song globally in 2025, rapidly approaching a staggering four billion total streams.

The 2026 EE BAFTA Film Awards will be broadcast live on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, hosted by Alan Cumming from the Royal Festival Hall at London’s Southbank Centre. The nominations for this year’s awards were announced in late January, with the film One Battle After Another leading the nominations.

The performance by EJAE, Audrey Nuna, and Rei Ami not only marks a milestone for the artists but also serves as a testament to the growing influence of K-Pop on global entertainment. As they take the stage at the BAFTA Awards, they will undoubtedly leave an indelible mark on the event and its audience.
