Ben Kram has transitioned from WME Group to take on the role of vice president at Content Partners, a prominent investment firm based in Los Angeles. Co-founded by Steve Kram and Steven Blume, Content Partners specializes in acquiring backend profit participation from talent and production companies.
In his new position, Kram will concentrate on business development and strategic growth initiatives for the firm, which has established a significant portfolio of movie and television titles. His appointment was officially announced on October 5, 2023.
Focus on Growth and Strategic Development
Content Partners aims to strengthen its market presence under Kram’s leadership. President John Mass highlighted Kram’s extensive experience in content strategy, business affairs, and entertainment partnerships, stating, “Ben brings deep experience in content strategy, business affairs, and entertainment partnerships, which will be instrumental as we continue to grow and diversify our portfolio and strengthen our relationships across the industry.”
Kram’s background includes structuring negotiations for agency clients at WME, managing deal-making across film, television, and digital media. Before his tenure at WME, he served as counsel for business and legal affairs at DreamWorks Animation and began his career in litigation at the international law firm Hogan Lovells.
A Promising Future for Content Partners
In a statement regarding his new role, Kram expressed enthusiasm about joining Content Partners during a critical phase of the company’s growth. “I’m excited to join Content Partners at such a pivotal time in the company’s growth,” he said. “I look forward to working with their team to identify new opportunities and contribute to the company’s continued success in acquiring and managing entertainment assets.”
Founded in 2006, Content Partners has built a substantial vault of film and television content by acquiring ownership stakes in Hollywood projects directly from participants. Notably, in 2013, the company acquired a 50 percent stake in the highly lucrative CSI franchise from Goldman Sachs. Four years later, it expanded its portfolio by purchasing Revolution Studios, which includes a library of 126 films such as 13 Going on 30, Black Hawk Down, Hugo, and Black Swan, along with the xXx action series featuring Vin Diesel.
As Content Partners continues to develop its strategic initiatives, Kram’s expertise is expected to play a crucial role in navigating the ever-evolving landscape of the entertainment industry.
