Michael Anthony Ortega Remembered for His Impact and Legacy

Michael Anthony Ortega passed away peacefully at home on February 18, 2026, surrounded by his daughters. He was born on March 2, 1956, to Trinidad “Trino” Ortega and Dolores “Lola” Ortega in the Harbor Area, where he lived his entire life. His family and friends are mourning the loss of a beloved father, grandfather, and great-grandfather.

Ortega is survived by his three children: daughters Charmaine Morales (Armando) and Helani Ortega Godinez (Danny), and son Michael Ortega. He leaves behind a remarkable legacy, including 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. His grandchildren are: Valerie (Jason), Veronica (Michael), Victoria (Vance), A.J., Leah, Dominique, Natalie (Milton), Maili, Solomon (Latavia), Melanie (Christopher), Mikey Jr., Lauren, Noah, DJ, and Leinani. The family also includes 13 great-grandchildren: Joseph, Justin, Preston, Ruby, Santino, Samuel, Helani-Eileen, Jason, Charity-Reign, Jack, Jireh, Alina, and Shila.

In addition to his immediate family, Ortega is remembered by his siblings: Diane (David), Andie (Jesse), Tricia (Donna), Gabe, and Chris, along with numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Kathy.

Ortega’s family has expressed their deep sorrow at his passing, stating that he will be profoundly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
