Holy Family Haven Opens 72 Affordable Apartments in Clarkston

BREAKING NEWS: Clarkston celebrates the grand opening of Holy Family Haven, a new apartment complex featuring 72 affordable housing units. The complex, located at 1411 Port Drive, is already welcoming families, with half of the units occupied and more residents moving in daily.
During the grand opening ceremony on Wednesday, officials and community members gathered to mark this significant development. Jonathan Mallahan, executive director of Catholic Charities Housing, praised the contributions of Holy Family Catholic School students, whose artwork and ideas inspired the complex’s name. “It was so nice to have all of the Holy Family students there to celebrate,” he stated.
The ceremony included a blessing from a priest and remarks from city leaders. Mayor Monika Lawrence highlighted the commitment made by John Pilcher, executive director of Horizon Housing Alliance, who promised a top-notch community for Clarkston families. “He really delivered,” Lawrence affirmed.
Holy Family Haven is designed to support families in need, providing not only housing but also essential services. Mallahan emphasized, “It’s not just a place to live. It’s a foundation for families to make lasting changes and achieve their goals.”
Currently, 30% of the units remain available for families with incomes between 30% and 60% of the area median income, and 35 units are reserved for individuals who have experienced homelessness. Those interested in applying can visit housing.cceasternwa.org/how-to-apply.
The project received a substantial boost from KeyBank Community Development Lending & Investment, which provided $31.4 million in funding for construction. In addition to affordable housing, Holy Family Haven will offer a comprehensive suite of support services, including mental health counseling, substance abuse recovery, transportation to medical appointments, senior support, and employment assistance.
This initiative marks a pivotal moment in Clarkston’s housing landscape, providing a safe and secure environment for families striving to improve their circumstances. As more families settle into their new homes, the community can expect to see a positive transformation in the lives of those supported by this project.
Stay tuned for more updates as the impact of Holy Family Haven unfolds in the coming weeks.
