Walking Mountains Launches Free Double Feature Film Night Nov. 4

URGENT UPDATE: Walking Mountains is set to ignite community discussions on sustainability with a free double-feature film night on November 4, 2025, at 6:30 PM in the Riverwalk Theater, Edwards. This event will showcase Patagonia Films’ “Fire Lines” and OARS’ “About Damn Time: The Dory Women of Grand Canyon,” both films that spotlight historically overlooked communities reclaiming outdoor spaces.

Fire Lines” follows Greg Williams, a dedicated father and mountain biker involved with Sierra Buttes Trail Stewardship. The film highlights the critical role of fire in the Sierra Nevada ecosystem and emphasizes how environmental stewards like Greg are essential for revitalizing mountain communities. “We are in the business of revitalizing mountain communities, and trails are the tools,” Greg asserts, illustrating how trails help manage wildfires through controlled burns.

In a parallel narrative, “About Damn Time” tells the inspiring stories of women who shattered barriers to become dory guides in the Grand Canyon. Featuring trailblazer Cindell “Dellie” Dale, the film illustrates her journey from being relegated to kitchen duties to leading adventurous rafting trips. Dellie’s story resonates as a powerful testament to opportunity and determination.

This double-feature film night is part of Walking Mountains’ Sustainable Film Series, designed to foster community dialogue on pressing sustainability issues. Participants are encouraged to engage in conversations aimed at finding innovative solutions to address the climate crisis.
