Exciting Halloween Events Scheduled in LeFlore County

LeFlore County is gearing up for a vibrant array of Halloween festivities this week, offering events for all ages. The celebrations kick off on October 27 with a special Halloween Pajama Storytime at the Patrick Lynch Public Library, scheduled for 18:00. Attendees are encouraged to wear their favorite pajamas or Halloween costumes while enjoying storytime.

On October 30, the Costumes for a Cure 5K Fun Run will take place at the Old Frisco Trail in Poteau. This event aims to support Hunter Swboni and his family by raising funds for medical expenses. As the night falls, the Long Lake Resort will host a Halloween Haunted Hay Ride from 18:30 to 21:00 at 35740 U.S. Highway 59. Tickets can be ordered by calling 918-647-8140 or visiting the resort office.

The main celebration occurs on Halloween, October 31, with a variety of activities in Poteau’s Downtown Dewey District. From 15:00 to 18:00, families can partake in the Candy Crawl, featuring food, candy, inflatable attractions, and even a mechanical bull. Local businesses are invited to join the festivities by distributing candy to children.

Simultaneously, the Poteau Fire Department will hold an open house from 15:00 to 21:00, offering candy and interactive activities like Jaws of Life Jenga and a children’s training course, along with bounce houses and cornhole games.

Wister Pride will present Halloween in the Park at 18:00, featuring candy games, prizes, hot dogs, a cake walk, and a photo booth, ensuring fun for attendees of all ages. A costume contest will commence at 18:30.

For those looking for additional trick-or-treating opportunities, LeFlore County Youth Services will host their event from 15:00 to 17:00 at 510 North Broadway in Poteau. A Trunk or Treat event will take place at Smart Mart, located at 27502 Bud French Road in Cameron, from 17:30 to 20:30, featuring games, candy, a bouncy house, and free hot dogs.

Trick-or-treating will also be available at the LeFlore County Courthouse from 08:00 to 16:30, and a Truck-or-Treat event will happen at The Oaks Healthcare Center, located at 1501 Clayton Avenue in Poteau, from 18:00 to 20:00.

The Halloween celebrations will conclude with the Spook-o-Jamma art and craft festival on November 1 at 220 Event Park on Dewey Avenue in Poteau. The festival runs from 16:00 to 23:00, featuring vendor booths opening at 16:00, a costume contest at 18:30, and live music starting at 19:00.
