Authorities report that a tanker truck carrying unleaded gasoline was in the outside lane while a pickup truck was in the inside lane, both turning north from Business Loop West onto First Avenue. Eyewitnesses suggest that the male driver of the pickup may have oversteered, causing his vehicle to collide with the side of the tanker. The impact was severe, dragging the pickup truck for over 30 feet.

The situation escalated when emergency services were called to the scene. The Jamestown Fire Department dispatched a team at 10:56 a.m., including 14 firefighters and one heavy rescue vehicle. Firefighters had to extricate the female passenger from the pickup, who reported neck and back injuries.

“We had to call fire and rescue to pull it away from the tanker and then they cut the door off to get the female passenger out,” Lt. Hardy stated, highlighting the urgency of the rescue operation. The injured woman was subsequently transported by Jamestown Area Ambulance to the Jamestown Regional Medical Center for further evaluation and treatment.

Remarkably, no other injuries were reported following this harrowing incident. The scene was cleared by the fire department at 11:35 a.m., bringing an end to the immediate response efforts.
