URGENT UPDATE: Henry “Joe” Lizotte, Jr., a beloved figure in Dracut, Massachusetts, has passed away at the age of 82. His family announced his death today, October 30, 2025, marking a significant loss for the community and those who cherished him.
Joe leaves behind his devoted wife of 63 years, Elaine, along with his brother, Phillip, and sisters, Nancy Beauchesne and Jeanne Bogdzewic. He was the proud father of three sons: Steven and Donna, Jeffrey and Lisa, and Gregory and Christine. Joe will be remembered as a loving grandfather to six grandchildren: Courtney Dana, Brooke, Jack, Lindsey Yaylaian, and twins Tyler and Emily, as well as three great-grandchildren, Grayson, Chloe, and Cecelia.
Born on September 9, 1943, in Lowell’s Little Canada neighborhood, Joe grew up in West Tewksbury. He met Elaine at a house party hosted by a friend, and they married shortly after he graduated from Lowell Trade School in 1962. Throughout his life, Joe was known for his unwavering love and loyalty to his family, instilling strong values in his sons that will carry on in future generations.
Joe’s life was characterized by love, laughter, and adventure. His family reported that of all his achievements, his greatest pride was in his sons and the families they’ve built.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made in Joe’s memory to the American Heart Association, an organization dedicated to fighting heart disease and stroke.
Calling hours are scheduled for Saturday, November 8, 2025, from 10 AM to 1 PM at the Dracut Funeral Home, located at 2159 Lakeview Avenue, Dracut. A short prayer service will take place at approximately 12:30 PM.
