Top Quarterback Jayden Wade to Announce College Decision Soon

Four-star quarterback Jayden Wade, currently the top-ranked player in the 2028 recruiting class according to 247 Sports, is set to announce his college choice on November 16. His final selections include seven prominent programs: the Oregon Ducks, Michigan Wolverines, Georgia Bulldogs, Texas Longhorns, Florida Gators, Ohio State Buckeyes, and Washington Huskies.

Wade has been a standout player at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida, where he has been on the varsity team since the eighth grade. At 6 feet 3 inches and 190 pounds, he has made a significant impact on the field, recording 24 touchdown passes and four interceptions, along with 1,772 passing yards and a completion rate of 63.8 percent across 23 games. In addition to his passing prowess, he has rushed for five touchdowns and accumulated 501 rushing yards on 58 carries.

Wade’s head coach at IMG Academy, Greg Studrawa, who previously served as the offensive line coach at Ohio State, has drawn comparisons between Wade and current NFL quarterback CJ Stroud, highlighting Wade’s potential and skill set.

As a California native, Wade is ahead of many of his peers, turning 19 during the fall of his senior season. He is expediting his recruitment process, having yet to take any official visits but attending Oregon’s spring game and summer camp unofficially. Speculations suggest that he may favor Georgia, led by head coach Kirby Smart. However, there remains ample time for other programs to sway his decision.

Oregon Ducks and Recruitment Landscape

The Oregon Ducks currently do not have any commitments in the Class of 2028. In addition to Wade, head coach Dan Lanning and offensive coordinator Will Stein have extended scholarship offers to eight other quarterbacks nationwide, including:

– Four-star Neimann Lawrence from Northwestern in Miami, Florida
– Four-star Donald Tabron II from Case Technical in Detroit, Michigan
– Three-star AJ Tuivaiave from Graham-Kapowsin in Graham, Washington
– Three-star Ayden Edwards from Tustin in Tustin, California

Looking at the previous recruiting classes, the Ducks have offered scholarships to a total of 11 quarterbacks in the Class of 2027, with no commitments to date. In the Class of 2026, four-star quarterback Bryson Beaver from Vista Murrieta in Murrieta, California, has committed to Oregon after flipping from the Boise State Broncos.

As Wade approaches his decision date, the competition among these elite programs remains intense, with each school eager to secure his talents for the future.
