Urgent: 11-Year-Old Girl Struck by Car in East Las Vegas

UPDATE: An 11-year-old girl was seriously injured just before 4:40 p.m. on July 10, 2023, after being struck by a 2019 Nissan Rogue while attempting to cross Lake Mead Boulevard in east Las Vegas. She was quickly transported to University Medical Center and is currently in serious condition.

The incident unfolded in heavy traffic just east of Peaceful Spirit Lane, according to reports from FOX5 Las Vegas. The driver remained on the scene and was found to be sober. They reported to police that they braked and swerved but were unable to avoid hitting the child.

“The child was crossing southbound across Lake Mead outside a marked crosswalk in heavy traffic,” stated the Metropolitan Police Department in a preliminary report.
