Free Spay/Neuter Clinic Launches in Austin, Benefits 1,200 Pets

UPDATE: A significant initiative is underway in Austin as Austin Animal Services and Greater Good Charities have just launched a FREE spay/neuter clinic for pets, running from November 13 through November 17, 2025. This urgent move aims to alleviate the financial burden on pet owners while addressing the pressing issue of animal overpopulation in the region.

This clinic, located at 11580 Stonehollow Dr., Suite 160, Austin, TX 78758, is set to benefit an estimated 1,200 pets over its five-day run. Services include spaying and neutering, as well as free vaccinations, microchips, and flea/tick prevention treatments. Pet owners are encouraged to arrive early, as registration opens at 6:00 AM daily, and services will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis until 10:00 AM or until capacity is reached.

“This clinic is vital in ensuring that every pet owner, regardless of their income or neighborhood, has access to health services that keep their pets healthy and communities safe,” stated Rolando Fernandez, Interim Director of Animal Services. This initiative responds directly to the ongoing challenge of stray and homeless pets, which can lead to increased community issues such as unintended litters and roaming animals.

This event marks the sixth clinic of its kind in the past year, which has successfully provided surgeries to over 5,000 pets. With procedures that typically cost between $75 to several hundred dollars and often come with long wait times for appointments, this free clinic removes those barriers, making it a crucial resource for pet owners in the community.

As the community rallies around this effort, the positive impact on pet ownership is undeniable. The clinic is not only a service but a commitment to responsible pet ownership and community safety, aiming to reduce the number of strays and promote the welfare of animals in Austin.

Organizers are also preparing for another round of services planned for early 2026, emphasizing their long-term commitment to the health of pets and the community’s safety. While logistical challenges may arise due to the anticipated crowds, the primary goal remains clear: to uplift the lives of pets and their owners.

This initiative highlights Austin’s progressive stance on animal welfare, affirming every pet’s right to quality care and responsible ownership. With the clinic now open, pet owners are encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity and ensure their animals receive the care they deserve.
