Rumors are swirling around a potential new chapter for the popular game Dead By Daylight, with a leak suggesting that a Predator chapter may be on the horizon. This information emerged from a reliable source within the gaming community, Dvveet, who shared insights on Discord, stating that the Predator content has been “lined up since Alien was released.”
The speculation gained traction after LeaksDBD, a subreddit dedicated to Dead By Daylight leaks, highlighted Dvveet’s claims. Alongside this, another leaker shared concept art of a character referred to as a “muscle queen Survivor” and hinted at a potentially canceled Survivor slated for March 2026, suggesting that the Predator chapter is likely to be the next addition, possibly arriving in January 2024. Nonetheless, Dvveet indicated uncertainty regarding the timeline, noting that development on the Predator license had not commenced as of November 2024.
While it remains technically feasible for the Predator chapter to launch at the start of the new year, the timeline appears challenging. Typically, Dead By Daylight chapters require over a year of development. If these timelines hold true, it seems more likely that another chapter will be unveiled in January.
Interest in a Predator crossover has been significant, ranking among the most requested additions alongside franchises such as Friday the 13th. The identity of the Survivor character remains uncertain. In a recent interview with YouTuber Testdeganonbenj, Mathieu Cote, the game director and head of partnerships for BeHaviour Interactive, dismissed the idea of featuring Arnold Schwarzenegger’s iconic character, Dutch, due to his portrayal as a “pure hero.”
As alternatives, some fans speculate that Naru, the protagonist from the acclaimed film Prey, would be an intriguing choice. Naru’s character, while not physically dominant, triumphed over the Predator by utilizing ingenuity and clever traps, making her a fitting Survivor for this chapter.
Potential Candidates for January Chapter
The Predator chapter is one of four possible contenders for the upcoming January release, which is expected to introduce two Survivor characters and one Killer. Other franchises speculated to be in contention include Danganronpa, although that option seems less likely. The second contenders are Resident Evil Part 3 and Stranger Things Part 2.
Reports indicate that leakers with a mixed success rate have suggested that the January chapter could feature a collaboration with Capcom involving Ethan and Rose Winters battling Jack from Resident Evil 7. Despite this, BeHaviour Interactive has seemingly cast doubt on the possibility of a third Resident Evil chapter, although it remains a consideration.
On the other hand, while there are no formal leaks regarding a second chapter for Stranger Things, enthusiasts believe something could be in the pipeline. This speculation is fueled by the recent availability of the Stranger Things chapter across all platforms, marking its return since being removed in 2021. The January chapter was also initially slated for November, aligning with the final season of Stranger Things.
With the potential for a thrilling January chapter, anticipation is building among fans. While Predator, Stranger Things, and Resident Evil appear to be the strongest candidates, the final reveal may surprise players with an unexpected option.
Looking further into the future, there are reports suggesting that Friday the 13th may join the game following its popularity in other titles, such as Fortnite. Cote has indicated that he cannot disclose information about Jason Voorhees potentially joining Dead By Daylight, adding that just because a license is available today, it does not guarantee its availability in the future.
As fans eagerly await official announcements, the gaming community remains on the edge of their seats, hoping for an exciting new chapter to enhance their gaming experiences.
