URGENT UPDATE: The annual Community Talent Show, “Harvest of Love,” is taking place at 7 p.m. on Saturday, November 22, 2023, at the St. Anna School gymnasium in Leominster, Massachusetts. This vibrant event, hosted by Our Lady of the Lake Parish, aims to unite the community through art, faith, and fun while raising essential funds for parish initiatives.
The talent show features an array of performances including music, dance, comedy, poetry, gymnastics, storytelling, and novelty acts by parishioners and their friends of all ages. Father Kenneth Cardinale, pastor of Our Lady of the Lake, emphasized the importance of the event saying, “Celebrating creativity and the unique gifts of the community is a way of honoring God.”
Tickets are affordably priced at $10 for adults and teens, $5 for children ages 5-12, and free for kids under 5, with a family cap of $30. Fans of the show can also participate in a 50/50 raffle, with tickets available for $3 each, $5 for three, or $10 for ten. Both admission and raffle tickets can be purchased in advance at the parish office located at 1400 Main St. or at the door on the night of the show.
As the day approaches, volunteers have been hard at work, dedicating weeks to prepare, organize, and bake for the event, showcasing a community effort described as “co-creating with God” to spread joy. Baked goods, hot and cold cider, and water will be available for purchase before the show and during intermission, adding to the festive atmosphere.
The “Harvest of Love” talent show is not just about entertainment; it represents a deeper connection among parish members and their faith.
“Let us all focus on gratitude and the belief that artistic expression can bring people closer to God and to one another,”
Father Cardinale added.
This engaging community gathering is an opportunity to support the parish and its youth group, which is raising funds for their upcoming service trip to Indiana scheduled for next July.
