Riot Games Unveils Riftbound: Spiritforged Details, Launch Dates

URGENT UPDATE: Riot Games has just revealed critical details about the highly anticipated expansion, Riftbound: Spiritforged, launching in English on February 13, 2026. The expansion will first debut in China on December 12, 2025, setting the stage for international excitement across North America, Latin America, EMEA, and Oceania.

This latest set promises to enhance the gaming experience with 12 Champion Legends, including fan favorites like Rek’Sai, Draven, and Irelia. Players will encounter innovative mechanics such as Equipment, Gold, and Repeat, fundamentally changing gameplay dynamics. Equipment cards, for instance, can be attached to units and remain active even after the unit is defeated, offering strategic depth.

Additionally, Gold tokens, associated with champions like Draven and Renata, will allow players to generate power flexibly. The Repeat mechanic enables players to amplify spells by paying their costs a second time, making for thrilling gameplay moments. Riot Games emphasizes that this expansion intertwines the themes of steelwork and the mystical Spirit Blossom universe of Ionia, enriching both card designs and champion identities.

At the recent PAX Unplugged event, Riot Games also teased significant expansions in collectability with Spirit Blossom-themed alternate art and 30 new Overnumbered cards, along with 12 Champion Units added to the series. These developments promise to ignite enthusiasm among collectors and players alike.

Game director Dave Guskin stated, “We learned a tremendous amount from how players engaged with Origins. Spiritforged builds on that foundation with new Champion Legends, new mechanics, and even greater collectability. We can’t wait to see what players create next.”

Looking ahead, Riot has confirmed the release of three additional Riftbound sets in 2026. The first, Unleashed, will launch in May and introduce new Champion Legends such as Vi, Rengar, and Master Yi. Following this, Vendettas will delve into long-standing rivalries featuring champions like Akali and Mel. Finally, Radiance is scheduled for later in the year, ensuring a steady stream of content for fans.

Competitive players should mark their calendars! The first English Regional Qualifier will take place in Houston from December 5-7, with additional qualifiers in Bologna, Italy from February 20-22 and Las Vegas from February 27-March 1. Riot plans to run a total of 12 Regional Qualifiers throughout 2026, with more updates on these events forthcoming.

This news is not only a significant update for gamers but also a compelling invitation to join the evolving world of Riftbound. With community feedback shaping the game’s future, players are eager to engage with the innovative features and strategies the new expansion brings.
