BREAKING: The legendary punk band Sex Pistols has just announced a thrilling 50th anniversary tour set to kick off in July 2026. This momentous occasion will feature four concerts across the U.K., celebrating half a century since the release of their iconic first single, “Anarchy in the U.K.”
The lineup will showcase original members Steve Jones (guitar), Paul Cook (drums), and Glen Matlock (bass), alongside Frank Carter as the frontman. Carter is a prominent figure in the punk scene, known for his work with bands like Gallows and Frank Carter & The Rattlesnakes. This tour marks a significant milestone, especially considering the ongoing tensions with former lead vocalist John Lydon, also known as Johnny Rotten, who has not performed with the group since 2008.
Tickets for this highly anticipated tour will go on sale on November 28, 2025, through Ticketmaster and StubHub. Fans can expect electrifying performances, including classic hits from the band’s sole studio album, “Never Mind the Bollocks, Here’s the Sex Pistols,” featuring anthem tracks like “Pretty Vacant” and “God Save the Queen.”
The tour will commence on July 11, 2026, at The Piece Hall in Halifax, followed by a performance at Castlefield Bowl in Manchester on July 12. Additional shows include Cardiff Castle on August 1 and Scarborough Open Air Theatre on August 2, where they will share the stage with notable acts such as The Undertones and The Stranglers.
The band’s reunion last year sparked excitement among fans, although it was marred by the absence of Lydon, who has publicly criticized the current lineup, referring to their performances as “karaoke.” In a statement, Jones expressed his commitment to keeping the spirit of the band alive, saying, “If it ain’t fun, I ain’t doing it. I’m too old for bulls—.”
The initial plans for the tour included the band’s first U.S. concerts in over two decades, but those dates were canceled following Jones’ wrist injury in September. As anticipation builds for the U.K. shows, the Sex Pistols demonstrate that their legacy is far from over.
Fans are urged to act quickly, as tickets for this historic tour are expected to sell out rapidly. Stay tuned for further updates as the Sex Pistols gear up to celebrate their incredible journey through punk history.
