Days Inn Near I-75 Sold for $7.275 Million in Sumter County

A hotel near a key interchange along Interstate 75 in Sumter County has been sold for $7.275 million. The Days Inn by Wyndham, located at 551 State Road 44 in Wildwood, was acquired by Gunatit Hospitality LLC from Villages Hospitality LLC on January 20, 2023. This transaction underscores the ongoing interest in commercial real estate in the region.

The Days Inn property spans 3.519 acres and features a hotel structure built in 1966. It is strategically positioned near the intersection of State Road 44 and Interstate 75, just southeast of the Pilot Travel Center. Such a location offers convenient access for travelers and local clientele, enhancing the property’s value.

Corporate records indicate that Gunatit Hospitality is owned by eight members of the Patel family, who are based in Wesley Chapel. This family-owned entity is expected to bring a personal touch to the management of the hotel, potentially improving customer experience and operational efficiency.

This sale aligns with a broader trend of significant commercial property transactions in Sumter County. In late February, the Spruce Creek Terrace Shoppes—a multi-building retail and office center located at 17860 SE 109th Avenue in Summerfield—was sold for $13.475 million. Earlier in January, the Better Times RV Community in Lake Panasoffkee changed hands for $3.05 million to a management group from Tampa. Additionally, in late December, Inter Continental Real Estate Development purchased a property along County Road 470 for $12.4 million.

As the commercial property market in Sumter County continues to thrive, local stakeholders are closely monitoring these developments. Investors and business owners are optimistic that such transactions will contribute to economic growth in the area.
