Samsung Unveils AI-Powered Ice Maker and Water Purifier

Samsung has introduced a new device that merges advanced technology with everyday convenience: the Bespoke AI Ice Purifier. This innovative appliance serves dual functions as both a water purifier and an ice maker, aiming to enhance hygiene and smart living in modern kitchens.

Advanced Filtration and Ice Production Features

At the heart of the Bespoke AI Ice Purifier is a sophisticated four-stage filtration system, certified by NSF International. This system claims the capability to filter out particles as small as 1,000 times thinner than a human hair. It effectively targets a range of harmful substances, including bacteria, microplastics, and heavy metals like chromium, lead, and mercury. The purifier can eliminate a total of 82 contaminants, ensuring access to clean and safe drinking water.

In addition to its purification capabilities, this appliance features an AI-powered ice maker that can produce up to 1,000 ice cubes daily, which is approximately 8 kilograms of ice. It can store up to 100 cubes at any given time. Samsung highlights that the AI-assisted electrolysis process sterilizes the water pipe every three days, while the ice box and tray receive a thorough cleaning once a month. To further prevent contamination from harmful microorganisms, the dispensing unit is protected by UV sterilization.

Smart Features and User Personalization

The Bespoke AI Water Purifier includes several smart features designed to enhance user experience. Built-in Bixby voice recognition allows users to control water volume and temperature through voice commands. The system can identify individual voices and remember preferences for each family member, offering a tailored experience. Users can adjust water flow between 50 milliliters and 1,000 milliliters and set temperatures up to 90 degrees Celsius using the SmartThings app.

The appliance’s front panel features a touchscreen display that provides quick access to settings, weather updates, and timers. It can store up to 20 frequently used customized presets for various tasks, such as brewing coffee or preparing different ramen recipes.

In terms of pricing, the Bespoke AI Ice Purifier retails for KRW 2.39 million, approximately $1,650, in South Korea. This launch reflects Samsung’s commitment to integrating intelligent technology into everyday appliances, enhancing the convenience and quality of life for consumers.
