Ashley Tisdale Exposes “Toxic” Mom Group, Calls Out Celeb Friends

Ashley Tisdale has publicly criticized her former mom group, labeling it a “toxic mom group” and seemingly directing her remarks at three well-known celebrities. The High School Musical star, who shares a 16-month-old son, Emerson, with her husband, composer Christopher French, expressed her discontent in a candid piece published on November 2025.

Initially, Tisdale praised her Hollywood “village of moms,” which reportedly included Hilary Duff, Mandy Moore, and Meghan Trainor. This support network emerged when she joined the group following the birth of her first daughter, Jupiter, in 2021. The group, believed to have been founded by Duff, has been visible on social media, sharing vacations, baby classes, and playdates over the past few years.

However, Tisdale’s relationship with the group has soured. In her article for The Cut, she reveals feelings of isolation during her postpartum period, stating that she felt “frozen out” by her friends. She noted that she began to notice her exclusion from gatherings when she would see photos on Instagram without having been invited. Tisdale described her feelings, saying, “It took me back to an unpleasant but familiar feeling I thought I’d left behind years ago.”

In a moment of vulnerability, she shared, “Here I was sitting alone one night after getting my daughter to bed thinking, ‘Maybe I’m not cool enough?'” This sense of exclusion prompted her to sever ties with the group. Tisdale recounted sending a message to the group, stating, “This is too high school for me and I don’t want to take part in it anymore.”

While Tisdale emphasized that she does not view the mothers as bad people, she expressed that the group’s dynamic had become unhealthy for her. Despite her current negative outlook, Tisdale was once an active member of the group, sharing joyful moments online. In a now-deleted post from 2022, she documented a girls’ trip with Duff and Trainor, expressing her gratitude for their camaraderie during the challenges of motherhood.

In January 2025, she publicly thanked her mom group for their support during the Los Angeles wildfires, highlighting the importance of human connection. She wrote, “The human connection is not lost. Shout out to the mom group that’s there in the highs and lows.”

Tisdale’s transition from celebrating her mom group to calling it toxic underscores the complexities of friendships, particularly in the high-pressure environment of Hollywood. As she navigates motherhood, her experience serves as a reminder of the importance of healthy relationships and support systems.
