Alanis, a charming and affectionate four-year-old, is currently seeking a loving family. Known for her love of music, especially the popular children’s show Cocomelon, she thrives on the warmth and comfort provided by her caregivers. Alanis expresses her joy through giggles, particularly when they whisper softly to her, creating a nurturing environment that supports her emotional well-being.
This little girl finds happiness in making sounds and taking pleasure in her own expressions. She feels most at ease when her fundamental needs are met, such as being fed, bathed, and having her diaper changed. Alanis is currently receiving early intervention services focused on oral stimulation, mirror play, sensory engagement with toys, and the essential nurturing physical contact that promotes her growth and development.
Support for Alanis and Adoption Awareness
The initiative to find a family for Alanis is part of the long-running program, Wednesday’s Child. Launched in 1981, this program is a collaboration between the Massachusetts Adoption Resource Exchange (MARE), the Department of Children & Families, and WBZ-TV/CBS Boston. Under the stewardship of host Jack Williams for over three decades, Wednesday’s Child has highlighted the stories of children in foster care, aiming to connect them with prospective families.
Through this series, hundreds of children have found homes, and the program continues to raise awareness about the importance of adoption from foster care. Families interested in learning more about Alanis or the adoption process can contact MARE at 617-964-MARE (6273) or visit their website at www.mareinc.org.
Alanis’s story is a reminder of the many children waiting for a family to call their own. By sharing her journey, Wednesday’s Child hopes to inspire potential adoptive parents to consider opening their hearts and homes to children in need.
