Tom Felton is set to reprise his iconic role as Draco Malfoy in the upcoming stage adaptation of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, sparking excitement among fans of the franchise. The English actor, who last portrayed Draco in Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 in 2011, expressed his enthusiasm for returning to the Wizarding World after more than a decade away from the character. His performance will debut on November 11, 2025, to much anticipation.

In a recent interview, Felton shared how his former co-star Daniel Radcliffe has played a significant role in supporting him through this transition. Radcliffe, known for his extensive experience on Broadway, provided invaluable guidance as Felton prepares to take the stage. Felton remarked, “My old school chum, Potter, Radcliffe, has done quite a bit of Broadway, so he’s holding my hand and certainly helping me through all the things that are hard to learn.” He added that the theatre community has been welcoming, stating, “The fans are really, really gracious and excited. So I’m just thrilled to be part of it.”

The announcement of Felton’s return to the franchise came in June, leading to a series of behind-the-scenes videos on social media where fans could catch glimpses of his adult Draco Malfoy look. As Felton prepares for his role, he has also been approached about his thoughts on the controversial views of J.K. Rowling, to which he responded that he is “not really attuned to it.”

Future Projects in the Wizarding World

Beyond the stage play, the Harry Potter franchise is expanding with an upcoming HBO television series expected to debut in 2027. This new series will introduce a mix of fresh faces along with returning actors, including Paul Whitehouse and Warwick Davis. While Felton was a strong candidate to portray Lucius Malfoy in the reboot, he confirmed he will not be involved in this project. Nonetheless, he expressed interest in connecting with the young actor who will take on the role of Draco, Lox Pratt, while Johnny Flynn has been cast as Lucius.

Felton’s return to the stage marks a significant moment for both him and fans who have followed his character since the early days of the franchise. He remains enthusiastic about this new chapter in his career and the opportunity to engage with both seasoned and new audiences.

As the excitement builds for Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, fans are sure to keep a close watch for further announcements and updates leading up to the show’s premiere.
