Texas Hosts Alzheimer’s & Dementia Research Update Today

Texas is set to host an important event focused on advancements in Alzheimer’s research and treatments today, October 22, 2025. The Alzheimer’s & Dementia Research Update will take place at two locations: the Port Arthur Public Library at 2 p.m. and the Stellar Bank in Beaumont at 9 a.m.

State Representative Christian Manuel (D-22) will serve as the special guest for this event, which aims to inform the public about the latest developments in Alzheimer’s research. It will also cover the Alzheimer’s Association advocacy efforts for Proposition 14, a significant initiative aimed at enhancing support for dementia research in Texas.

The event is being organized by Christina Crawford, a board member of the Alzheimer’s Association. Participants will have the opportunity to learn how they can contribute to advancing dementia research and advocacy in their communities.

For those interested in attending, further details are available by contacting Shanna Briggs at [email protected] or by calling 409-833-1613. This is a vital opportunity for individuals to engage with ongoing efforts to combat Alzheimer’s disease and support the community’s health initiatives.

The dual-location format aims to reach a broader audience, promoting awareness and encouraging public participation in critical conversations about dementia and its impact on society.
