Doris C. Schleh, a cherished mother and friend, passed away peacefully in her sleep at the age of 93 on December 5, 2025. Her family confirmed her passing, noting that she died at her home in St. Paul, Minnesota, surrounded by the warmth of her memories and the love she shared with those close to her.
Born to Thora and Gaylord Geary, Doris was a vibrant presence in her community. She is preceded in death by her parents, two husbands, Edward Matsen and Charles Schleh, as well as her son, John Matsen, and granddaughter, Teasha. Doris also lost her siblings, including sisters Norma Kjos and Viola Hauge, and brother Arnold Geary.
A Life Filled with Love and Joy
Doris is survived by her daughter, Nancy, and grandsons Tyler and Jacob. Known for her lively spirit, she enjoyed dressing up and dancing on Tuesday nights with her friends at the Red Barn, a local venue that became a gathering spot for many in the community. Doris also cherished moments spent at lunch with family and friends, where laughter and stories filled the air.
The family plans to honor her life with a Gathering of Family and Friends on February 27, 2026, from 14:00 to 16:00 at Wulff Funeral Home, located at 1485 White Bear Avenue N., St. Paul, Minnesota 55106. This gathering will provide an opportunity for those who knew and loved Doris to come together, share their memories, and celebrate the legacy she leaves behind.
Throughout her life, Doris touched many hearts with her kindness, warmth, and unwavering spirit. Her family encourages all who knew her to join in remembrance and to share in the joy she brought to so many.
