Gail K. Wold, aged 87, of West St. Paul, passed away recently, leaving behind a legacy woven with faith, family, music, and a passion for animals. Wold, known for her dedication to her community and family, is survived by her children, Janelle (Todd) Rau and Kevin (Jodi) Wold, along with four grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Her influence extended far beyond her immediate family, as she touched the lives of many through her long-standing commitment to music and volunteer work.
Born as Gail Zinschlag, she was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Howie Wold, and her parents, Gil and Ellen. A proud graduate of Park High School in 1956, Gail dedicated over 70 years of her life to music, serving as a church musician and as a children’s choir director for more than 50 years. Her unwavering commitment to her faith community was evident in her role at King of Kings Lutheran Church, where she was a beloved figure.
Her devotion also extended to her volunteer work at the Minnesota Zoo, where she contributed for over 45 years. Gail’s love for animals and her enthusiasm for sharing that passion with others made her a cherished member of the zoo community.
A visitation will be held on December 19, 2023, from 16:00 to 19:00. The funeral service will take place the following day, December 20, 2023, beginning at 11:00, with an hour for visitation starting at 10:00. Both events will be held at King of Kings Lutheran Church, located at 1583 Radio Drive, Woodbury. A luncheon will follow the service, allowing family and friends to gather and celebrate Gail’s life.
In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred, reflecting the values Gail held dear throughout her life. Her family invites those who knew her to honor her memory through acts of kindness and support for community initiatives.
Gail K. Wold’s life was a testament to the power of love, community, and music. She will be dearly missed but fondly remembered by all who had the privilege to know her.
