Community Mourns the Passing of Doris Elaine Barriere at 61

Doris Elaine Barriere, a beloved resident of Port Arthur, Texas, passed away on December 21, 2025, at the age of 61. Her warm spirit and unwavering faith touched many lives, and her loss is deeply felt within her community. Born on January 29, 1964, in Galveston, Texas, Doris was the daughter of Doris Roy Barriere and Leo Barriere Sr.

Throughout her life, Doris was dedicated to her family and career. She attended Lincoln High School and later became a Certified Nurse’s Assistant, demonstrating her commitment to caring for others. Doris was a devoted mother to two daughters, Heather and Helena, who were a central part of her life. After living in Austin, Texas, she returned to Port Arthur to support her mother during a time of health decline, showcasing her loyalty to family.

Her warmth and generosity extended beyond her immediate family. Doris is survived by her daughters, Heather (Michael) of Texas City and Helena of Port Arthur, as well as four grandchildren. She is also remembered fondly by her four brothers: Desral (Sherry), Clifford “Al”, Jude (Tish), and Vincent (Adelice), along with numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

Doris was preceded in death by her parents and several siblings, including sisters Yola, Veronica, and Dorothea, as well as brothers Larry, Leo, and Martin. The family also mourns the loss of nieces Alethia and Tawana, and nephews Lloyd and Levi.

Celebration of Life Scheduled

A celebration of Doris’s life will take place on January 17, 2026, at 11:00 AM, at St. Paul United Methodist Church, located at 821 Texas Ave, Port Arthur, Texas. Friends and family are invited to honor her memory and share their stories of her life and legacy.

Doris Elaine Barriere will be remembered for her kindness, her faith, and the love she shared with all who knew her. Her impact on the community and her family will not be forgotten, as they cherish the memories of a life well-lived.
