Upcoming Events Highlight Community Engagement in Valdosta

A series of community events is set to take place in Valdosta, Georgia, providing opportunities for local residents to engage and celebrate cultural heritage and spiritual growth. These gatherings include guest speakers, anniversaries, and youth revivals that aim to foster connection among the community.

Black History Month will be commemorated with a special event on February 15, 2026, at New Zion Christian Center, located at 703 Paine Ave.. The event is scheduled to begin at 10:00 a.m. and will feature guest speaker Min. George Ward from New Life Ministries of Valdosta. This event aims to honor the contributions and achievements of Black individuals throughout history.

Following the Black History Month celebration, the 22nd Church Anniversary at New Zion Christian Center will take place over multiple days. The festivities will commence on the evening of February 17 and continue through February 18, with a final service on February 22. The lineup of guest speakers includes Pastor Garnell Frazier alongside the Rocky Hill Church of God In Christ family on Tuesday, Dr. John Manning with the St. Mark Missionary Baptist Church family on Wednesday, and Pastor Marcus Haynes from Providence Missionary Baptist Church in Hahira on Sunday.

In addition to these church events, the African Modeling for Scholarship Purposes program will occur on February 22 at Friendship AME Church, located at 5479 Dry Lake Rd., Dixie, Georgia. This event, hosted by the Love Joy Chapter No. 246 Order of the Eastern Star, aims to promote scholarship opportunities for young individuals through an engaging modeling showcase.

The community will also host a Youth Revival at Magnolia Missionary Baptist Church, located at 409 W. Main St., Hahira, from March 2 to March 8. Each evening at 7:00 p.m., different guest speakers will take the stage, including Pastor Aden Fluker from St. Lewis MBC on Monday, Pastor James P. Robinson from Good Hope Christian Church on Tuesday, Pastor Jay Williams from The Victory Church on Wednesday, and Pastor Solomon Edwards, Jr. from Mt. Calvary Universal Holiness Church on Thursday. The revival will conclude with a message from Elder Jalen Smith of Union Cathedral on Sunday.
