Maverick Golf Teams Shine at Hallsville Tournament; Jackson Scores Ace

The Maverick Golf teams delivered strong performances at a recent tournament held at Wood Hollow Golf Course in Hallsville. Competing against 16 other teams, the Mavericks showcased their talent and determination, highlighted by a standout achievement from Logan Jackson, who recorded a hole-in-one.

Team Achievements and Individual Highlights

Representing the Mavericks were two teams comprised of one junior, two sophomores, and five freshmen. Team 1, featuring Logan Jackson (74), JoJo Griffin (79), Landon Ware (79), and Masen Downs (94), secured an impressive 4th place finish overall. Their collective scores showcased both skill and teamwork throughout the day.

Meanwhile, Team 2, which included Nathan Nafe (91), Tucker McDaniel (99), Gage Erwin (103), and Covie Patton (106), finished in 14th place. While they did not place as highly, their participation provided valuable experience and demonstrated growth for these young athletes.

In addition to the team’s success, Logan Jackson made headlines with his hole-in-one, finishing tied for 4th individually among 80 players. His exceptional performance not only contributed to the team’s overall standing but also marked a significant personal achievement. Both JoJo Griffin and Landon Ware also impressed, finishing tied for 10th place in the individual rankings.
