Valley City High School Democrats Launch First Meeting

The Valley City Area High School Democrats of America (HSDA) will hold its inaugural meeting on January 23, 2024, at 5 p.m. in the Norway Room of the student center at Valley City State University, located at 230 Viking Drive. This meeting aims to establish the local chapter and initiate discussions on various policy issues.

During the gathering, participants will explore the fundamental workings of the HSDA and discuss how the local chapter can contribute positively to the community. High school students from surrounding areas that lack a local chapter are encouraged to join, creating a broader platform for engagement.

Empowering Youth Voices

Students interested in political engagement, including protest organizing, campaign assistance, volunteering, and social media activism, are invited to attend. Carter Hass, a senior at Valley City High School and the founder of this chapter, emphasized the importance of providing a platform for Generation Z to express their concerns and advocate for solutions.

“Our generation needs serious unity, and this is the best way to unite,”

Hass remarked. He believes that the HSDA offers high school students an opportunity to effect peaceful and meaningful civic change. Regardless of political affiliations, all students are welcome to participate in the meeting, reinforcing the chapter’s commitment to fostering an inclusive environment for the next generation.

Members of the press are also invited to cover the event, highlighting the chapter’s mission to encourage young people to engage in political discourse. Hass expressed gratitude for the chance to be involved in the HSDA, stating,

“It is truly a blessing to be a part of the HSDA and make our young voices heard. Patriotism can go a long way, and this political organizing represents patriotism at its finest.”

The formation of the Valley City Area HSDA marks a significant step towards empowering youth in political advocacy, providing them with the tools and support needed to participate actively in their communities. As the meeting approaches, anticipation grows among students eager to collaborate and make their voices heard.
