Young Climbers Gear Up for Three-Day Outdoor Adventure

A three-day rock climbing camp hosted by Mountain Recreation aims to equip young climbers with essential skills and techniques. Scheduled from June 23 to July 23, 2026, the program targets children aged 6 to 10 and will take place at two locations: Edwards Field House and Gypsum Recreation Center.

Participants will begin their journey at an indoor climbing wall, where they will learn fundamental skills such as knots, belaying, and proper movement techniques over rock. This introductory day will prepare them for two days of outdoor climbing, allowing them to apply their newly acquired skills on real rock formations.

The camp is designed not only to offer practical climbing experience but also to foster a love for outdoor adventure among young climbers. With a total cost of $260, the program emphasizes safety and skill development, making it an excellent opportunity for aspiring climbers.

Parents interested in enrolling their children can find more details and sign up through the official website at mountainrec.org/camps. The camp promises a dynamic and engaging environment, encouraging children to explore their physical abilities while enjoying the beauty of nature.
