Chino Hills Traffic Stop Sparks Major Drug Bust, Three Arrested

URGENT UPDATE: A routine traffic stop in Chino Hills on October 16 has escalated into a significant drug bust, leading to the arrest of three local residents on multiple narcotics charges, as confirmed by the San Bernardino County Sheriff-Coroner Department.

Deputies initiated the stop due to alleged traffic violations at the intersection of Rolling Ridge Lane and Glen Ridge. During the stop, occupants Michael Aguilar and Tanya Camacho were discovered with methamphetamine, prompting further investigations that uncovered a larger drug operation.

Following the initial arrest, authorities proceeded to a nearby residence on Laguna Court, where they found Camacho’s children under the care of their grandmother, Mary Rodriguez. Rodriguez, who had outstanding warrants for narcotics-related offenses, was also taken into custody. Notably, while Aguilar was being arrested, deputies found additional methamphetamine and items indicative of drug sales in his possession.

A search warrant executed at Rodriguez’s home revealed more methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Under Proposition 36, Rodriguez faces serious charges under Health & Safety Code 11395(b)(1), which may lead to enhanced sentencing due to her prior convictions.

Aguilar and Camacho were transported to the West Valley Detention Center following their arrests. Aguilar has been charged under HS11378, while Camacho is charged with HS11377. The heart-wrenching aspect of this case is the presence of Camacho’s children, highlighting the devastating impact of substance misuse on families.
