URGENT UPDATE: Downtown Fresno is about to get its first dedicated “dirty soda bar,” as Dad’s Cookies prepares to launch at The Garage this spring. The announcement comes as the popular Utah-born drink trend rapidly gains traction across social media and specialty soda shops.
Dirty soda is a nonalcoholic beverage that combines soda with flavored syrups and creamers, creating a unique experience akin to mixing cocktails. Customers can expect to see made-to-order creations like blackberry vanilla Pepsi and Dr Pepper with lime and cream. The concept aims to transform familiar sodas into an innovative treat, offering endless customization for every palate.
Owner Lance Sanchez emphasizes that Dad’s Cookies will deliver a bar-like atmosphere without the alcohol. “We want to make a dirty soda as if it’s a bar,” Sanchez stated, highlighting the craft presentation and creativity of each drink.
Located on Fulton Street in Fresno’s Brewery District, The Garage will be a multi-tenant food hub, and Dad’s Cookies is set to be a major draw. The venue will also feature cookies, ice cream, and espresso drinks, making it a prime destination for families, younger crowds, and anyone looking to break away from the typical brewery scene.
Sanchez envisions collaboration with other food businesses, similar to partnerships seen in local breweries. “We don’t really look at it like competitors,” he said. “We look at it as a baking family.”
The Garage is expected to officially open in the coming weeks, pending final permits and construction. A preview event will take place at FresYes Fest on March 21, showcasing tenants including Gator’s Smash Burgers and Las Rancheritas.
With foot traffic expected from nearby Chukchansi Park and various festivals, Dad’s Cookies is perfectly positioned to attract crowds looking for something new and exciting. Stay tuned for more updates as the opening approaches!
