Firehouse Subs Abruptly Closes Only Annapolis Location

BREAKING: Firehouse Subs has officially closed its only location in Annapolis, Maryland, leaving fans of the sandwich chain shocked and disappointed. The restaurant, situated in the Festival at Riva shopping center, ceased operations earlier today.

This closure marks a significant change for the community, as Firehouse Subs was a popular choice among local diners. The restaurant was owned by Restaurant Brands International, the parent company of other major chains such as Tim Hortons, Burger King, and Popeyes, both of which continue to operate in Annapolis.

When approached for comment, Restaurant Brands International provided a brief statement:

“While the Firehouse Subs restaurant at Festival At Riva has closed its doors, we look forward to continuing to serve guests our delicious hot subs at the nearby Severna Plaza and Waugh Chapel Firehouse Subs restaurants.”

However, the company did not disclose the reasons behind this unexpected closure.

On a visit to the now-closed location on Wednesday, all kitchen equipment and furniture had been removed. A plain sheet of white paper hung on the door simply stating “closed,” and the store remains listed on the Festival at Riva’s website as of this moment.

The closure comes on the heels of other retail challenges in the area, including the recent shutdown of Party City at the same shopping center following its bankruptcy. The loss of Firehouse Subs adds to the growing concerns about the stability of local dining options.

In 2019, the Firehouse Subs Foundation made a positive impact by donating two protective vests to the Annapolis Police Department, highlighting the brand’s commitment to community support.

As residents search for alternatives, the focus will shift to nearby Firehouse Subs locations at Severna Plaza and Waugh Chapel, which may experience an influx of customers seeking their beloved sandwiches.

Stay tuned for further updates on this developing story, and for local residents affected by this closure, consider reaching out to nearby locations for your sandwich fix.
