URGENT UPDATE: Gilbert Regional Park is set to temporarily close its pickleball courts for a series of exciting tournaments, impacting local players. Starting from the afternoon of November 1 until 8:00 PM on November 2, courts 1-8 will be unavailable for regular play due to the AZIAPL Private Tournament.
This announcement from the Gilbert Town Hall means that pickleball enthusiasts need to plan accordingly. Following this tournament, high school players can look forward to exclusive play on the evening of November 25. The buzz continues through the holidays with the “Pickleball is Great Holiday Classic”, taking over from December 26 through December 28. Players eager to kick off the New Year with a game will have to wait until after the “More Bang for the Buck Tournament,” set for early January.
The pickleball frenzy doesn’t stop there; the “2026 Winter Classic Tournament” will occupy the courts from February 20 to February 22, ensuring a packed schedule for local players. Once each tournament concludes, the courts will reopen to the public, ready for community enjoyment.
During tournament days, expect crowded courts operating on a first-come, first-served basis. Players are encouraged to follow a court rotation system when capacity is reached. For those unable to secure a court, alternative options include nearby Arbuckle Park and Arrowhead Meadows Park.
