This program, kicking off in January, runs every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., offering a comprehensive look at how laws are made and the inner workings of the government. “Interacting with other pages, House staff, and lawmakers while seeing the legislative process firsthand is a rewarding experience,” Jordan emphasized, highlighting the program’s potential to enhance civic engagement among young Hoosiers.
Participation in the House Page Program not only facilitates a deeper understanding of governance but also counts as a one-day excused absence from school, according to Indiana law. This allows students to balance their academic responsibilities while gaining invaluable insights into public service.
