Mickey Rourke Evicted from Los Angeles Home Amid Financial Struggles

Mickey Rourke has officially lost his rented home in Los Angeles following a court ruling. Documents obtained by Page Six on March 5, 2024, reveal that Rourke’s former residence on Drexel Avenue has reverted to its landlord, Eric T. Goldie. The ruling was issued by default in the Los Angeles County Superior Court, indicating that Rourke likely did not appear to defend himself or respond to the court’s complaint.

The court order specifically addressed the “possession” of the residence without citing any damages. This decision comes after Rourke faced a previous court filing in December 2023, which required him to vacate the property within three days or pay $59,100 in back rent. In January, Rourke was seen removing his belongings from the house, with a U-Haul truck parked outside shortly thereafter.

As he transitioned from his home, reports indicated that the Iron Man 2 actor was temporarily residing in a luxury hotel in West Hollywood, California, where room rates start at $550 per night. Concurrently, a GoFundMe campaign was initiated by Liya-Joelle Jones to raise $100,000 to help Rourke avoid eviction. However, the actor publicly disavowed any connection to the fundraiser.

In a January Instagram video, Rourke expressed his frustration, stating he did not seek “f–king charity” and emphasized his pride in managing his own affairs. He remarked, “If I needed money, I wouldn’t ask for no f–king charity. I’d rather stick a gun up my ass and pull the trigger.” Holding a small dog, he insisted he had no understanding of what a GoFundMe campaign entailed.

Despite an influx of potential job opportunities, Rourke has reportedly been selective, seeking A-list paychecks and refusing to work for less than $200,000 per day. His manager, Kimberly Hines, conveyed to TMZ that Rourke’s financial situation is complicated. Sources close to Rourke described him as “rich poor,” indicating a lifestyle filled with excess and previous struggles with substance abuse.

The narrative surrounding Rourke’s finances suggests a cycle of earning and spending that has left him in precarious circumstances despite opportunities in film and reality television. As he navigates this challenging period, the actor’s future remains uncertain, and his past decisions continue to shape his present reality.
