Moore Launches Free Christmas Tree Pickup for Eco-Friendly Cleanup

URGENT UPDATE: The City of Moore, Oklahoma, is making it easier for residents to dispose of their Christmas trees in an eco-friendly manner. Starting today, January 6, the city is offering a free Christmas tree pickup service that runs through January 16.

Residents are urged to avoid leaving their trees in polycarts or on the curb. Instead, they can schedule a special pickup by calling 405-793-5070 or filling out an online web form. This initiative aims to keep public spaces tidy while ensuring the trees are recycled or repurposed responsibly.

For those who prefer to drop off their trees, the Public Works department at 512 NW 27th St. will be open on Fridays: December 26, January 2, January 9, and January 16 from 7 AM to 5 PM. Residents should bring an ID or a City of Moore utility bill to confirm their residency when dropping off.

The City of Moore emphasized its commitment to sustainability, stating on social media, “

Let’s keep Moore clean and green.

” This initiative not only simplifies tree disposal but also encourages environmentally responsible practices among residents.

Taking part in this recycling program helps maintain community engagement and promotes a culture of environmental stewardship. With the holiday season winding down, Moore residents can extend the spirit of giving into the new year by participating in this important cleanup effort.

Residents are encouraged to act quickly to take advantage of this service, ensuring their post-holiday cleanup is both convenient and beneficial for the environment.
