Earlier last week, at around 5:30 a.m. on Wednesday, a devastating crash claimed the life of Esteban Rodriguez, 21, in Spring Valley. His vehicle veered off state Route 125 and collided with a tree, leaving him dead at the scene.
In another incident, just before 4:30 a.m. on November 20, Guillermo Pagan, 55, was fatally injured when an SUV struck him while he was walking on state Route 94 near Hillside Drive in Jamul. He was pronounced dead before paramedics could transport him to a hospital.
A day prior, a pedestrian accident in the San Carlos district resulted in the death of Eleanor Anslow, 38, who was struck by multiple vehicles in the 7500 block of Mission Gorge Road at approximately 4:45 a.m. on November 19. She died at the scene.
On November 18, Lucy Prewitt Starkes, 89, suffered fatal injuries in a collision at a Jamacha-area intersection. While making a left turn from westbound Imperial Avenue to Viewcrest Drive, her Volkswagen Jetta was struck by a Ford Excursion shortly after 10:30 a.m.. Despite being taken to Scripps Mercy Hospital for extensive injuries, she was pronounced dead six days later.
