Super Bowl Champ L’Jarius Sneed Indicted in Texas Shooting Case

UPDATE: Two-time Super Bowl champion and Tennessee Titans cornerback L’Jarius Sneed has been indicted in Dallas County, Texas, for failing to report a felony related to a shooting incident that occurred on December 6, 2024. Court records confirm this urgent development, which raises serious legal implications for the 28-year-old athlete.

The indictment marks a significant escalation in a case where Sneed, along with another individual, Tekonzae Williams, faces serious allegations of gun violence. They are accused of pulling up to One Legacy Motors, a car dealership in Carrollton, Texas, in a rented Lamborghini Urus and firing shots at two men inside a Mercedes-Benz G-Wagon. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, but bullets struck both the vehicle and the dealership building, according to the Associated Press.

Sneed is charged with a Class A misdemeanor, carrying a penalty of up to $4,000 in fines and/or one year in county jail. Williams, on the other hand, has been indicted on a charge of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. This legal action comes alongside a civil lawsuit against both men for more than $1 million in damages.

Following the indictment, the Tennessee Titans issued a statement, emphasizing their awareness of the situation. “We are aware of the legal matter with L’Jarius Sneed and have remained in contact with NFL security per league protocol,” the team stated, adding that they would provide no further comments during the ongoing investigation.

This indictment adds a troubling chapter to Sneed’s NFL career, now in its sixth season and second with the Titans. He participated in the first seven games of this season before being placed on the injured reserve list due to a leg injury sustained on October 19. Previously, Sneed played four seasons with the Kansas City Chiefs, where his contributions led the team to two Super Bowl victories.

As the case unfolds, fans and analysts alike will be closely monitoring Sneed’s legal battles and their potential impact on his career and the Titans’ season. The NFL and its stakeholders are likely to face tough questions regarding player conduct and responsibility in light of these serious allegations.
